About Chris

Uncoil Pilates and Health Solutions was established by Sydneysider Christine Ritchie.  Chris has more than 29 years experience in the Health and Fitness industry and a passion for exercise, travel, good health and wellness.

In 1993 Chris swapped her late nights in the Advertising industry for early mornings in the Fitness industry.  She found it to be a seamless transition as she was truly passionate about her new career. More than 29 years on, she is still excited to be able to combine her active lifestyle with her ‘job’ and is very proud to have helped many people commit to workout schedules that assist them in sustaining healthy lifestyles.

Fully trained in the STOTT method of Studio Pilates and Yogalates™ and a certified Personal Training Exercise Specialist, Chris offers individual and high quality Studio Pilates sessions on the Lower North Shore and Northern beaches of Sydney.  She has successfully designed and delivered health and wellness exercise programs for the corporate sector in Sydney, and co-hosted active-lifestyle wellness retreats locally and overseas.

I have been attending a weekly Pilates session with Chris for the past few months mainly for lower back stiffness. I had been to group Pilates sessions using reformer equipment but found the lack of individual attention and instruction on the use of the machines to be lacking. Chris provides an exceptional level of personalised instruction and assistance to ensure that the equipment is used safely and effectively. Her many years of experience in exercise training and her knowledge of exercise physiology are obvious and impressive, and she freely shares this knowledge with her clients to maximise their understanding of their bodies. From the first visit where Chris quickly and accurately assesses individual needs and capacity, the private sessions have proved to be highly effective in addressing my specific back problem as well as further enhancing awareness of my strength, balance and mobility.
